Ok, I know the obvious ones, new steering wheel, gauges, radio, grill, foglights, but is there anything different on the 2004 models? Just trying to find out all I can because I'm gonna upgrade soon....

In another thread, it appears the MAF is no longer moddable in the 04 4.0l.

You can turn the brights light on and the fog light said on.You get more road light

So why couldn't that be done on the new ones? All you have to do is rewire the relays. So you say you can do this more easily on the '02, like mine, and then I could put in a relay to keep the brights on with the high beams and have everything on.

 

The 2004s have a different grill, valance, hood, guage cluster, radio, seats, steering wheel, and the MAF's were changed a bit for both the 3.0 and 4.0 motor...

 

I do love the seats. Even more comfy than before, and the headrest rocks! Steering wheel is classier, but I don't think the previous one was bad. I love the white gauges, but the cluster itself isn't as great. But I do think they VASTLY improved the dummy lights. They are all in the center instead of spaced throughout the cluster. I still wonder it it'll say check "gage"?

I bet the fog light mod can still be done, but the relay just moved to a different location/pin. We shall see.

Yeah, the grill wasn't my favorite, but I kinda like it now. It's different. Still has the plain jane dome light.

Bucket seats are sexy, & center console was pretty cool. A Cockpit like feel, but good luck finding one with a 4.0l and edge. 4x4's almost always get buckets, and some of the XLT's come with them. The little subwoofer in the 290 watt CD6/MP3 deck was pretty decent.

The grill looks best in black or grey, but I agree I liked my 03 grill better.

But i think the new hood and grill is a Perfect candidate for a billit grill. That could look killer. Someone try and photoshop something up, or I'll attempt tonight.

greg and i noticed the ford badge onthe grill is bigger on the 04's. also the mirrors are smaller

haha... the grille and hood are the only part i don't like. makes it look less intimidating...

i like the squared off valance...
