Has anyone done an LS swap on their ranger? I want to turn mine into a Prerunner over the next year, and plan on having all custom long travel, caging, and the works, and was thinking about an LS1 for the power plant. I think the power to weight and efficiency make it a far better choice than the ford 5.0. I'm a ford fan through and through, but I might have to go with a chevy motor for this build...

Thoughts?

INT3RC3PTOR was throwing the idea around to install one. Plus his truck is running a DBR LT suspension. Look him up, he's a great guy who might have info for you.

 

It seems like LS1s are all the rage right now. I haven't seen one in a street Ranger though. Alot of desert trucks run them though.

 

Desert Truck is what I would be going for. Once I finish school I want to get into racing full time. I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info on guys who did their own LS swaps into their desert trucks. A lot of sand rails that are built by big name shops have them as well, but I doubt they would give me all of their secrets!
