frame rot!

my 2001 Ranger 4x4 with 121 thousand miles has no body rust, not bad for living here in the north east. The bad part is under side, rust rust rust mostly from the cab back. I took the spare tire off so it didn't fall off. Had to replace the rear spring hangers, rear end cover, brake lines and should replace gas tank center strap hanger. I say should but can't find any, not a dealer item! I wish Ford would recall these things like they did the 150.

no easy fix for this one either repair or replace center x-member. Maybe you can patch it if the structure is sound.Cut a slot in a piece of 1\8 plate to fit the strap end weld\bolt it to what's left of the x-member. We replaced the whole x-member in my '94 I paid $10 each at the junkyard where I have torch privilege and cut them out myself.

Hey thanks for replying. I'll hit the bone yard this weekend near me to see what they have. There's a place that has the whole back section but that might be overkill.
