I want an exhaust!!!

Hey everyone, I am currently running nothing but my cats for my exhaust. I am wanting another Flowmaster 40 Series, but the last time I had a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow, SI/SO w/ dual tips & it sounded like crap. I want something that's loud, but nice sounding at the same time & I want this in the Lightning style. What should I run & what size is out piping for mufflers so when I go to order the muffler I'll know which 1 to get. THANKS!

Brenton

run 2.25 size exhaust tube and some big tips. the smaller size should create more flow in a smaller space, and with more flow its gonna make more noise. im not much for flowmaster, but whatever you want.

I like magnaflow, i have dual mufflers on my car, very quiet until you get on it, an then its sounds pretty!

Im looking to get exhaust on the truck soon, tired of not having anything to listen to.

I ran just the cats on my '97 4.0 and I thought it sounded cool. I had it y-out after the last cat and ran daul tailpipes behind each rear tire. It was quiet at idle.....but at high RPM....oh my. Sounded like a very mean Civic on NOS. Some liked it, some didn't.

Does Bassani still make that exh. system that has daul tips that dump out in front of the right rear tire? Kinda like a Lightning. Adam

ya but now after a few months of breakin on the borla its much louder.... prolly same as flowmaster now, i just would rather have performance over noise any day.

ive had all three, magnaflow, flowmaster, borla. flowmaster was definatly louder but i dont have tips on my borla setup yet, once i get those on i think it will be pretty loud. ill take a vid once i get the tips on.

yes they do and it sounds pretty sweet as well, ive heard one in person, but its like 600+ i think for it because it is all stainless steel.

Borla......

Only some have heard mine AFTER it got broken in.....Sounds mean if you ask me.....

Its comparable to a flow-40 in "'loudness"

And you get a gain instead of a loss....

Has there been any real tests that prove magnaflow puts out more power than a flowmaster? Dyno sheets comparing the two? From my experience my Super 40 feels alot better than my old Magnaflow. I felt more noticeable power with the flowmaster.

I run flowmaster 40 series...sounds pretty nice, at idle it "growles" and after 2krpms it sounds nice...

Im not one for noticing power gains, because its just in your head, but i felt lower end power not being all there....

I have 2 1/4 inch piping single in dual out

I can get a deal on magnaflow. That's cool with me, but I have a quick question. Which finish on a muffler doesn't rust? Stainless Steel or Aluminzied Steel?

Would a dual out be louder than a single out? This is for the Borla Pro XS...
