Hey Guys,

So I want to mount a roof rack on my Mazda B3000 and there arent really rain gutters. I have the roof rack tied into the hearache rack and bed rails but I still think I will need extra support over the roof to prevent it from vibrating while driving. I will be using 1.5in, 1/8 thick, square tubing all around. Do you think I will even need a front support?


Over the side rear window there is sort of a gutter but it is not that large (see pic) and I was thinking about using that but it is way small.



Any ideas would be appreciated. I dont want to drill into the cab if possible (unless it is a really good, hidden spot.

I doubt you will need the support, but have no details on design you will be using, or the weight requirement needed over the cab

I have a rack bar I use on my Ranger that clamps in door jamb on both sides, no holes, rubber contacts with painted surfaces, no issues in many years of use.
It came with the truck when I bought it used.
It is Yakima brand but Rhino also sells the same type of mount cheaper

I just thought of something..............

You don't need an attached bar.

You just want some support for a load.

Add legs to rack above cab edge, where metal roof skin is supported by door frame, and use adjustable rubber feet to support front of rack.
