2003 Ford Ranger Brake Issue
2003 Ford Ranger Brake Issue
Hey guys i recently bought my first ford ranger and im loving it but it does have an issue. its a 2003 ford ranger XLT 4x4. when im slowing down for a stop sign etc the truck slows down great but as i almost come to a complete stop it makes a grinding type sound from the front brakes almost like a ratchet being spun or a loud ziptie being tightened, when this happens the brake pedal also pulses and vibrates. i have no dash light on and the truck doesnt seem to be haing trouble stopping im just not sure what it would be. the pads are in decent shape
Brake pedal pulsing is almost always warped rotor, but that is usually noticed when applying brakes hard at any speed.
I guess best next step would be to pull the front wheels and spin the rotor while watch to see if caliper/pads moves back and forth slightly, indicating rotor is not spinning true.
Also check caliper and pads for looseness.
