Tough call, if no bearings show unusual wear pattern then it would probably be OK.
But I would price out new bearings just to see what extra cost would be, so you have a "risk/reward" price point.

Many upgrade cams on OHV engines for more power and never change the cam bearings and never have problems, so outside of an obvious wear issue it should be fine.

bearings showed no obvious wear whats strange to me tho is that there is no bronze bearings my cam just sits directly on the part of the head that the cam bolts to with the caps.

In order for me to get new bearings i would need a new head and caps.

If it runs right on the head (aluminum I'm assuming), what they do is take a bit of the caps where they meet the head.
After that it's line bored back to spec.

If you really want to get fussy you can use some plastigauge, although I'm not sure what the factory clearances should be or if the spec is in the manual.
