new to the Ford line

Well were to start got a 09 4.0 2 wheel drive and well I just wanto make a beast out of it. I want to open up its air ways but I may have a doner mustang 4.6l and if I can swap out some parts great if not then I'll just have to make do with it. As it is I'm getting 235 miles on 3/4 tank but want more out of it or more power, yes I know more power less fuel. Either way just looking for tips and advice on it, I'll check out the forum but any good advice would be great.

Welcome to the forum

One upgrade that frees up power and increases MPG, only one that does both, lol, is removing mechanical radiator cooling fan and installing an electric cooling fan.

Mechanical fan is on all the time so does take power to run it, yes fan clutch helps but it still takes power, so less power for rear wheels and since fan doesn't help move you down the road less MPG.

E-fan does use alternator power so there is a trade off, but............
The radiator fan is only needed when there is a lack of air flow thru the radiator for cooling, so an e-fan would be on when stopped or driving slowly to provide enough air flow thru rad for cooling.
When driving at speed, when you would like more power, or when cruising down the highway(best MPG) then e-fan is off because there is enough air flow thru radiator.

So win-win

This will not free up 50 horse power, lol, probably maybe at a stretch 3HP, but it ain't 0, and better MPG so long term it will pay for itself
