Hello I have a 1993 ford ranger. Had it for about a year now. The engine will start with no issues but when I put it into drive or reverse I can only make it a small ways down the road(maybe 50 yards) and the truck will just shut down on me. Park/nuetral seem to be fine. any suggestions on where to look or if you need more information please let me know. Thank you for your help!

 

When you say shut down, do you mean like it runs out of gas or you lose electrical power? Engine size? Have you attempted to get any codes from it?
