Repainting my white ranger to red and I'm trying to get close to the Ford Vermilion red but I'm on a budget and will be using tractor paint for it. Has anyone tried this? Should work right? I'm trying to match up the colour(not exactly, I know it won't be exact) to get it close and Massey Ferguson Red seems to be the closest I can find. What do you guys think>

tractor paint may be OK but you will spend hours sanding, masking, priming, I assume you are going to spray not brush. The car paint today is so much better than the old enamel with todays base and clear coat, Of course if its to be a farm vech. tractor paint is OK. you can brush it too.
that enamel is old school. I have used a lot of it to paint tractors and implements. It holds up good if you park inside. It WILL fade to pink in a year or two if you leave your truck outside in the sun.
The poly paint are much more durable that old enamel. look at TCP Global Corporation - Quality & Service Since 1974 also another issue you probably have noticed how much better a vehicle runs after a clean and wax job. with tractor paint on your ranger could set that truck in a snit then you will be very sorry. spend more on paint save $ by painting yourself. Its a lot of fun, im not a professional but I have spray painted a lot.
OK I'm starting to get worried, it seems like enamel tractor paint is going to be a bad choice but 1 quart of Massey Ferguson red is 50 bucks whereas I don't even know how to get Ford Vermilion or how much it will cost. I'm just a lowly apprentice and the cost is a factor but if it will fade to pink and be shitty I guess I should save up some cash.
