About VIN # truth
About VIN # truth
So i bought this 2003 2wd Ranger Tremor. I ran the VIN # on google and it said it was a Edge Plus. wierd. Got the pioneer stereo package. i guess my next trip is to a dealer when i get a chance.
The model options would come from the serial number in the VIN, so not sure how accurate that would be
VIN decoder here: The Ford Truck 17-Digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Decoder
It just tells you the basics, serial number would be too specific, it would need to come from Ford data base, like the "window sticker" would have when it was originally sold
I think Ford Dealers can only go back 10 years, but you might get lucky, it is free to ask

- R14 = 2WD two-door S/C.
- R44 = 2WD four-door S/C.
With the driver door open, look on the Vehicle Certification Label. For Tremor models, there should be a "W" in the radio (R) slot. Another giveaway on that same label: 2WD Tremor came from the factory with 16" wheels; 2WD Edge had 15".
