My 2008 Ranger CD/Radio is shot. I'd like to replace with something that does the CD and Radio plus one I can plug my I-phone into. Can any of you advise what is out there that is newer and will slide into the existing housing for the DC/radio player?

 

Any single DIN aftermarket radio will fit with an installation kit. You have to buy the installation kit separate as they as designed for each individual vehicle. The kits only cost about 20 bucks. Double DIN radios can fit but require modifying the bezel a bit and sometimes don't look quite right so I would stick with single DIN radios.

If you want literal slide in slide out fit you need to get a factory radio. Ford did offer a factory CD player/radio with an auxiliary input jack for that era ranger. You just need to track one down online or in a junkyard.
