fuel filter number

Hi. What fuel filter are you guys using? The book for my 2001 4.0 shows it as a FG 1002. I ordered through amazon without checking and it showed a FG 1061. It arrived and is much larger around. I guess I can make it work but is it ok?

I know this is an old thread but for anyone currently asking the same question as the OP-
I talked to the parts guy today at the local Ford dealer and he said that the FG-1002 fuel filter had been discontinued and replaced by part # FG1071.Here's the Ford #

Motorcraft 2L5Z-9155-AA. Either part number will work for a part search.

2.5L, 3.0L, and 4.0L all use the same fuel filter according to the User Manual for my 2000 2.5L.
Fuel pumps however will be different depending on wheel base so be sure to read the specs before buying a fuel pump to make sure you're getting the right one.
I've been told that Delphi makes good OEM fuel pumps for many Manufacturers. They are reputed to be of high quality and a direct match.
Here's the model number that fits my truck with the 112" wheel base-

Delphi HP10230

I hope this helps someone.
