Hi!, Thanks, and heater probs!

Hi everyone! Thanks for accepting me to the forum! I joined because I recently bought my new 2018 Wildtrak! This is my first pickup and my first new car (my Peugeot estate has 300k kms on the clock!)
I’m absolutely loving my new toy but I’m having some trouble with the heating. It may be a case of taking it to Ford under the manufacturers guarantee but before getting into that I just wondered if anyone else has had the same issues? When I push the auto button the a/c button also lights up, is that normal? (It’s currently winter where I live) I can’t seem to get a stable temperature, when I set the temp at 22°c/72°f the car interior feels cool and the fan seems to blow cool. So I turn it up a few degrees and a few minutes later I’m cooking! Also the demister seems to really struggle, the windscreen seems to have a permanent fog which is invisible during the day but distracting at night with oncoming headlights. The demister struggles to clear it, when I use max demist it clears but again I cook! The max demist blows max speed at max temp, but after I turn it off everything stays at max temp until I adjust the temp setting. I’d be interested to hear of anyone elses experiences, thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum

You have a T6 Ranger, we call them the International Ranger since we can't buy them here in the US or Canada, our Rangers stopped being made in 2012

There is an english language forum for your model here: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum...Ford-amp-Mazda

As for your problems
We call it the Defroster, you the demister, but same thing, anytime demist Vent is selected the AC will come on, this is to Dry the air blowing on the windscreen, so even in winter AC will come on if demist is selected.
Yes, take it to Ford dealer to have them check the climate control, it reads like a temp sensor in the cab is out of wack

Hi RonD!
Thanks for your reply, yes I had come to the conclusion that I’d signed up to the wrong forum!
Appreciate your reply anyhow!
Regards .... Neil
