What engine do I have?
I have a 2005 ford ranger xlt 4x4. I bought it and was told it was a 4.0 the other month I brought it to a shop to get some work done they said they had to order a 3.0l belt for it ( the belt won’t stop squeaking now). About Two weeks later I brought my truck to auto zone to get a scan done because the engine light came on. They ran the scan and it said it was a 4.0l. What should I believe, and is there a way I can confirm if my truck is a 3.0l or 4.0l

1st picture, big letters on throttle cover 4.0l SOHC

Or look at registration and VIN number, 8th digit in VIN is engine size
E = 4.0l SOHC
U = 3.0l Vulcan
