Need info please- DIMENSIONS for my ranger
Need info please- DIMENSIONS for my ranger
Hi
To start out
Could some one pls tell me where abouts I could find the exact size and dimension for my regular cab 2.3 2WD 2010 Rangers bed.. Looks like my truck is basic everything. It's an XL not XLT. 2.3 liter. 2WD. Seats three in the bench seat, officially but talk about being cramped up like in a sardine can. It's a good reliable truck! Very small and basic but I do love it !!
I'm looking for and trying to purchase a used locking fiberglass hard top cover for the bed of my truck.
I'm not a hundred percent on a couple of things..
For example in size, what inches or footage in size what would be considered "regular" vs "extended". I've been having a bit of a time.. I'm not exactly sure on how to measure and judge what size/dimension for a hard top to cover my trucks bed.
Lastly I would need to locate a decent-used hard cover Preferably in the Westchester County NY - Fairfield County CT area. However maybe a half way point to drive some to purchase the used hard cover for a good price definitely would be possible*
Okay hopefully talk more
Thank you!

Welcome to the forum
Rangers all used same bed, 6ft, regular or extended cab didn't matter they are interchangeable
The 6ft bed has two versions:
regular(wheel wells inside bed) Ford calls "Style side"
step side(wheel wells outside bed), Ford calls "Flare side"
Step side would need a narrower canopy
Regular cab did have a Long Bed version, 7ft bed, it needed a different frame with rear axle 6" farther back so it wasn't an "option" it was a different truck
1993 to 2011 6ft beds are interchangeable
1983 to 1992 6ft beds are interchangeable

Cool thanks for getting back to mee and for your information link
I believe I have the regular sized bed then which is 6ft -
So could I purchase a regular sized 6ft fiberglass hard cover (not the 7ft sized hard cover) from another manufacturer/model/maker say for ex Toyota, chevy and put it onto my ranger without any issues of it fitting correctly? Will it line up & work out to fit or is that a no go...

Oh I didn't know what you meant by a "canopy" so I went ahead and craigslisted it and got the image of it. It looks just like a cap. Maybe they're the same thing?
Don't get me wrong the canopy is a good idea too
I'm just afraid for the area the truck is located in they'll stop to look peek inside and happen to spot a damn Philips screwdriver bust all the windows out and run with it down the back alley, down the street
that is true
..unfortunately
So I think thee safest best bet is to stick with the locking fiberglass hard cover for the bed in the long run.
(Fingers crossed *)
I do Appreciate your help

Yes, there are benefits and draw back to windows
If you will be storing tools or ?? of value then maybe no windows are best
But if there are windows then a thief can decide if the stuff he sees is worth the risk
If he can't see inside then maybe he just breaks in to see if there is anything of value, lol
There real issue is those darn thieves
I have a work truck with canopy and windows, lock the truck but don't lock canopy
Have lost a few things over the years, usually cordless drills in the carry case, don't like it but thats just going to happen
Once had the truck drivers door lock damaged and he got inside and went thru everything, nothing was missing so even through he could see inside he still busted the lock to check places he couldn't see
