1.5" Lift Max Tire Size?

It claims I can now add a 285/70/16R tire with a 16x8 wheel. Is this for real? That seems like it would be too big for the truck and do a lot of rubbing.

I’ve got this on my 99 ranger but I had to add 2” spacers to clear the sway bar on tight turns, also it will be a very tight fit but for me it doesn’t rub. I do have an off-road bumper though so I’m not sure how it would fit with a stock bumper.
