Making a power windows thread

Hi guys, received my new power window assemblies today. So that means next project with the truck is to fix the power windows. Also since i am going at it , i will be replacing my driver door with a excellent shape one i bought a while back. I bought all 4 doors for a good deal before when my truck was hit by a snow plow. it damaged my doors a bit, and I bought a set of cheap doors rather then deal with it.
So last going off my driver side power window was slow. It would creep up slowly. Truck is high miles too so they may have wore down with lots of usage over the years. About two weeks ago my driverside door completely stopped working. And about a week later the passenger side one completely stopped working. Previously I was hearing a click under the dash when trying to activate either power window, and now nothing.
I will be taking pictures for anyone who plans on swapping a manual door and refitting in a power window assembly. May as well do the work all the same time.

Step 1: Going to check fuses Fuse 12, 20amp, in engine fuse box

Try to take off the drivers door label to put on the new door or at least take a picture of it and stick it in the glove box for future reference

2002 power window wiring below, same as 2003

Aux relay box 1 is usually above gas pedal and has a black plastic cover over it, has 4 to 7 relays inside

Well step 1 worked so far haha. Went out to check fuse 12 and there was no fuse in the slot. I guess the day when my friend came over to help troubleshoot the pcm he stuck it in the next slot by mistake. No big deal.

the passenger side window is working again however driverside still not working. It is possible that the motor is burned out. I’m going to take the door apart and see if I can find power at the switch.

additionally , I don’t want power locks. Just the power windows, would it hurt anything if I leave the power locks fuse out ?

Just unplug the door lock motor, I don't have a full power diagram for 2002 Ranger but I know there are 3 fuses involved for door locks and security module, 2 of the fuses are full time power, so pulling a fuse may disable other systems, but you can certainly try it and see if anything else stops working
