Can't get the drum back together
Can't get the drum back together
I'm rebuilding my rear brakes, and I can't get the passenger side to fit together properly (10" drums). The drivers side went together, but the passenger side seems like the crossbar is pushing the pads out too far. I have one side in the ebrake bracket, and the other is in the front pad. When I have the crossbar out, I can get everything to line up properly. When the bar is in, I get a gap and the pads are out of place. I think everything is where it belongs, but it just doesn't fit right.
Some things to note. The reason I'm rebuilding the brakes is that I suspected that side wasn't working properly. I don't exactly know why, but it felt like I wasn't getting full braking power. Also, the ebrake spring was super tight on that side. The drivers side was much easier to get the bracket attached to the spring/cable. Am I missing something here? Any tips? I've taken it all apart three times, and always end up with the same result.
Pics:
Not all the springs are in the pic, but they don't bring anything into place. Easier to see without them.

This is with the pad in the proper place, but the crossbar is out showing the fit issue.
