Hows the new wussified Ranger?
I don't know about the size. I've seen one parked next to an F150 (both 4x4s) and they looked almost the same. I think the Ranger might be a bit narrower but length and height was almost the same. My 98 is a daily driver at least three days a week and some more urban places I go with it are pretty tight.
My thought !
If I had to give meaning to "Wussified", in reference to a vehicle, it would be, " A vehicle that miss the boat on being more than it was" !
I for one think FORD screwed up again ! No wonder Ford is in financial troubles, or so the talk goes !
I was waiting, hoping we would actual get a smaller truck that would do a lot more and all Ford did was take a Cross Over, cut the back open, and called it a truck.
Too bad, Ford has one more chance with me, the Bronco, the latest picture looks interesting but only time will tell what the running gear will be.

I really need to test drive one just for kicks. I'm with Scrambler82 though for the most part, a bit disappointed with the packaging and was hoping for something a bit more affordable. I really don't need alot of fancy electronical stuff to cost a bunch and potentially fail. The bed height makes it problematic to me too. All the new midsize pickups are like that though. I guess I'm a dinosaur but I'm optimistic about the Bronco too.
If you mean the 2019, I like mine. Not a crew, it's the half door version. Traded in a 2000 S10 with 207500 on the clock.
Far as I am concerned, it's about right. Gets the mileage it should per spec, carries more and tows more than the old S10, the 4 cyl is flat out a monster as they go, and it was the best of the lower cost pickups. Cost just a bit over 20k, npt too high, about right compared with the S10 of 20 years ago. Wish it had a diesel and stick, but even the trucks that supposedly had stick available, nobody had ever seen one, so I was out of luck regardless. The 10 speed tranny works fine, even if it is in 4th or 5th by 35 mph (it's busy shifting like a Road Ranger.).
Yeah it's high, 23 inches to the door bottom, and too high to the bed, but so are all the others.
Wussified? Eh, whatever, I still have a 6 foot bed, the yuppie crew version has like 4 or 5, mebbe that version needs that little frame to hold the groceries.....
Do I like everything? Nope, didn't figure to. There is some stupid stuff. None of it a deal killer.
Only thing is, I swear I am the only one in the US that bought one.... I have driven 12k miles in 5 states so far (since October), and have NEVER seen another new Ranger yet. Got a bunch of questions about it when I was unloading logs from the back one day, but have not seen even one other of either version.

Size didn't matter to me, so I won't comment on it, the NEW Bronco, I wanted a new vehicle but couldn't buy into the new Ranger, or the cost fo the F-150, so what I mean by waiting for the Bronco is, "For me it is Ford's last chance for me to buy a new Ford", will it be just a warmed over already in product Cross-Over Chassis, I don't know, in fact I don't think Ford even know, as funny as that sounds.
I haven't seen any pictures of the new Bronco, and the old one are being priced out of the reach of normal everyday Ford Lovers.
Ford is going to be in major trouble soon, time to sell the Ford Stock !
