B-Series mazda cab swap... feasible?
B-Series mazda cab swap... feasible?
Recently got my 1989 xlt supercab and had an accident where, Im most likely going to have to replace the entire cab if i ever want it to be 'right'. While I've looked all over the place and have found a few candidates for either fabrication or replacement i was wondering if the b-series mazda would work? Isnt Fomoco usually a little more standardized? If so it would be even better for the build Im going for.
No, the 1994 and up Rangers and B-series were built in the same assembly plants so have many interchangeable parts, but body parts can have different lines so don't always match up
The 1986-1993 B-series were Imports, built overseas so don't match up with Rangers of these years
Just Google: 1989 Mazda B2200 extended cab
And Google: 1989 Ranger extended cab
You will see the differences

Ford bought a 24% stake in Mazda in 1979 and upped it to 33% in 1995
Ford started importing a rebagded B-series, sold as Ford Courier from 1972 until 1982, it sold well, so Ford made its own small truck called the Ranger starting in 1983
The B-series was still imported and sold after 1982 until 1993
