Cowl hood aftermarket?

Hello out there in ranger land.

I keep seeing cowl hoods for Rangers but to no avail I can not find where they are being purchased. Or is something that has to be custom made.

Any answers would be great.

2002 Ranger XLT.

No I've seen those before usually on the edge and 4.0 models.

Could just be an added scoop.
This one appears to follow the idea of the Power Dome.

Exactly what are you after, looks or functionality ?

Looks - then its different and if it works for you then it works !

Functionality - Does this one have opening to allow air flow ? Is it open under the Scoop, this would allow room for the 5.0L-W or which ever engine you choose. The OEM Power Dome Hoods are not functional but can be made functional... i.e. the back of the hood can be opened up, with reenforcement, both the underside and the backside of the power dome. The are above the eying on the Power Dome Hoods is raised slightly but can be opened up allow more room but requires reenforcement.
A functional Dome on either Scoops will help in a number of ways:
1) To suck air in through the radiator
2) Allows less pressure build up under the hood, allow more fresh cooler air to come through the radiator. this will allow the radiator to cool the engine better.
3) Will let the engine run slightly cooler.

Remember the Power Dome is a Fiberglass Hood, can be modified if needed, they can be found in some JYs but are a little rarer than a Non-Power Done Hood.

Luck on your choices.

Thanks for the info scrambler. I'm looking for style as well as function. Looking to upgrade the motor to a 5.0 eventually.

Post picture of what you get and the install !

Just me... Look around the Web as RonD has suggested, get some pictures... IMHO... make a matrix of size vs price vs a rating by you of what you think of it.
From there, things get easier to separate what is in your ball park.

Luck on your choices.
