Truck Bed Rusted: Now What?

I have a blue
2003 Ford Ranger Edge / XLT
4-Wheel Drive
Supercab 2Door
4.0L V6 EFI
made in USA

I love this truck.
I use it for towing and farm work.

The bed has rusted to the point where it has separated from the frame.
Its starting to flop around a bit.

What are my options here?

Oh wise Ranger Enthusiasts!

Welcome to the forum

1993 to 2011 regular cab or extended cab beds are the same size, 6ft, and interchangeable
There were "Long Bed" Rangers, 7ft beds, all regular cab, and no you can't use one, lol, the axles in these long beds were moved back 6", so if you lined up your wheel wells there would be a 6" gap between cab and bed

So you can get a "better" bed and just "bolt it on", if its a 1999 or earlier bed, you may need to swap tail light lens to match your 2003 wiring, I think the lens changed in 2006 but wiring was the same

If you can find a damaged bed you can cut out a section and reweld it into your bed

Ah a midwest truck, just weld a piece of rebar or steel stock across the gaps and open a cold beer, nothing to see here.

I turned mine into a flatbed/rack body...

2007 fx4 4.0L auto, with under 100k miles on it.

There I fixed it

OK. Not as nice as the flatbed but I found a not-yet-rusted-out bed at a junkyard and transferred it.

Next, I'm going to sand it down and then pain the whole thing is going Kubota Orange.
