08 topper brake light wiring

I’ve read a bunch of info on this topic, but it doesn’t seem relevant in my 08 sport 4x4. I’m trying to wire a truck cap third brake light without using a logic module. I’ve read there is a green wire capped off under the hood fuse box, don’t see it, have read there is one under the seat, also don’t see it. Have read there is one on the frame rail by the spare, again, don’t see it. Can someone chime in and if possible show an image of where I might easily locate the third brake light holy grail wire?
Thanks for any assistance.

Doing the same in 2026 and saw your post. What was your final solution?

Also, surprised no one replied.

I ended up getting the logic module. It worked, I was just trying to save a buck if it was possible.

Silly me... I just ran a wire from the factory 3rd light on the cab to the one on the topper.

I had read that suggestion from
back in the day, but the general consensus was that it was difficult to get access to the 3rd brake light area. Any detailed information you could share as to how you did it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just unscrewed it from the cab. Tapped into the positive wire and removed the lamp. Then ran the wire back to the topper.
