Hi guys . Brand new to the place and to rangers but can't find an answer to this one net or anywhere so far for my model , so here we are.
How can l turn off the voice promts on 2010 pk ? Damn women drives me insane , what possessed them to think we need that garbage banging away 24/7 . lt seems to mainly go on about radio tuning and crap , hellos and goodbyes. PS , it's the Australian ranger which from what l can tell are fairly different to US and others in particular models .

Also , is it ok to disconnect the battery and take it out , wanna adjust the steering box could take awhile have to take the battery tray itself out and what have you too.

Yes, yours is quite different that ours especially in this case because we never had voice prompts :)

Yes, you can take the battery out, you will need to reset clock and you will lose any saved radio stations

Yeah right lucky you's l tell ya but l thought so, a lot of yt stuff l watch they're completely different but anyway that's great about the battery cheers.
Now if l can just turn this voice off , hopefully there'll be people from all over and some might have mine.

 

Well , great news. Driving today and this damn voice was interfering with my music speaking and bipping straight over it, driving me insane l'm thinking are you effg kidding me, your gone when l get home, just gone.
Well , got home later , head under dash passenger side looking for her and she spoke. l knew it was on that side but just where exactly couldn't pin down. Guess where they stashed her, tucked up in under the passenger seat , wth , sneaky. Took an upside down picture of it because l couldn't even see it, took that inside and studied it. l see 4 tiny scews and one round wire, right , your dead lady. Got a tiny screw driver undid them and lifted it out. Just a box with a big speaker in it and the usual two speaker wires running into it, not anymore . l cut those things and ripped it out. Took the car for a drive started fine drove fine , she's dead . Can't believe it. Two mths l've had that stupid damn thing going off every minute or two anytime l drive the damn car well , not anymore, ever , ahhhh.

Had to resort to the same with my wifes Kia. lt had this insane electrical box under the glove box , never shut up it spoke and bipped none stop from when you got in the car to when you took out the keys and got out, But it didn't have a speaker as such and l didn't wanna snip the wire cord going into it that was pretty thick with a lot of wires it would've messed up the anti theft maybe even shut down the car. Until , l discovered it was a tiny electronic speaker in the middle of it . Stuck a screwdriver straight through the middle of that and bingo - peace forever.
