Timing tensioner torque specs

Getting ready to change the timing chain tensioners but I can't find any torque specs for them.

Also the new parts from Ford were nice enough to not include the metal washers, can the old ones be re-used?

Recently replaced the 2 OilPressurized TimingTensioners in my 2001 V6~4.0L~SOHC; your underhood should be near identical.
Believe Torq on these is 49FtLbsMax, though had to do 60FtLbs on my left Tensioners due to a scarred seat & wrap the washer with teflon.
Be careful not to crossthread the new tensioners.
It's possible to re-use Gasket\Seal\Washer, though used ones are more likely to leak oil; be sure they're not damaged\bent.
Most Torq specs for V6~4.0L~SOHC are listed here

Hope this helps.

PS: While your changing the left Tensioner is a good time to consider upgrading
from the junk Plastic ThermoStat Housing to an improved Aluminum ThermoStat Housing.

My 02 4.0 SOHC only had one washer from the factory. It was on the front tensioner. I reused it and it did not leak. I think may have used a thin film of silicone sealant to help. I know I used a little silicone sealant on the rear one without a washer. I was careful not to use too much because the oil port for the tensioner is close to the sealing surface and I wanted to make sure no silicone got in there.

OEM tensioners never come with washer as far as I know. You have to order them separately. I ordered them when I did the timing chain rebuild and they were on National back order and would not come in soon enough for my rebuild. I did it again reusing the original factory front washer and not using one on the rear. I still don't have a leak on either one.

Ford part counters will nickel+dime you all the way to the poor house
on small hardware that should be included with parts.

Got both of them installed and re-used the washers. Top one so far doesn't leak. The right side I'm not so sure since there's always a coat of oil from the leaking valve covers.

Looks like I'll have to replace the thermostat housing anyways. The barb for the heater core broke off when I was tightening the clamp and is stuck in the hose

Rock Auto has the aluminum thermostat housing for a very reasonable price. I just got one from them, but have not installed it yet.
