2000 ford ranger xlt ecu

Hi I have a 2000 Ford Ranger Flex Fuel and I was wondering what other years could I swap the ECU from to put on to mine because I lost my key and I had a guy in a transceiver with the key and the computer as well and the gem module that just wondering if it would work on to mine

You can get Forscan software and erase all the old keys then add TWO new keys, 2 keys is minimum, can't just add 1
A mobile locksmith can also come out and cut, and then add a new key

You can use a 1999/2000 Ranger 3.0l Flex fuel computer, can't use 2001 and up for sure, and 1998 is a maybe but doesn't need a transponder key either, so might be OK

Also must match transmission, manual or automatic
2WD or 4x4 doesn't matter
GEM is not part of this system, it just control wipers and lights in cab

2001 and up 3.0l Ranger has different automatic transmission, and speed(MPH) system so effects manuals as well

Flex fuel uses larger injectors so if you use a non-flex fuel computer you would also need to change injectors
