Didn’t really know about these Rangers either. I needed a truck bad since my main transportation died so I found a Ranger for sale on Carmax and didn’t realize how perfect it actually is. It’a a 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4 Sport with 81,000 miles. It’s simplicity is something I’ve always wanted in a truck. It’s size isn’t obnoxious and if anything, practical. Interior is as plain as it can be which is what any truck should be. Overall, I absolutely love the bare bones quality it has and if I’m not wrong, probably the last truck Ford will produce or anyone for that matter with that bare minimal quality. Makes it a little more special to own.
Anyways, glad to be here and I don’t know if it’s a thing but got a wave from another Ranger driver. I’ll take it.
Hello, and welcome to the forum.
Nice find. Looks to be an upgrade from the base model XL. Color matched front facia, wheels, fender flairs are all an option package, so not really "bare bones". Still, not anywhere near the electronic nightmares available now.
Mine is even more "bare bones with just ac and an auto trans, but It's why I also luv the truck.
Lots of knowledge here, so help is always available.
And a thumbs up and a wave to you !
If I remember correctly, the Sport replaced the EDGE. So it would have color matching bumpers front and rear, color matched grill, torsion bar front suspension (even if it's 2wd), wheel flares, fog lamps, and vinyl floors.
