Brakes
Brakes
Okay the wife has a 2021 Ranger She tells me something is up with the brakes I get in and push the peddle down and it goes almost to the floor and it's spongy lift and hit again and it right up there like it should be
I told her take it to the dealer it only has a 1000 miles on it .
They tell here that is normal So you have to pump the brakes every time you have to stop Thats bull crap

I drove the wifes truck today The brake are still not right
When i apply the brakes the peddle is low almost to the floor and stops like crap hit it a 2nd time there right up there and good
The truck has 1800 miles on it now .The Stealership said nothing is wrong Bull crap
This is a 2021 Ranger 2x4 sport Does your new Ranger stop like this ?
push the peddle down then push again and there right at top and work good

It went to the stealership today again. They tell up its normal for the brakes to go almost to the floor on these Rangers and you have to pump them to get the peddle higher
or hit them twice to stop
and they don't have a fix yet . Master cylinder is not bypassing is what they told us

They shouldn't be calling it "normal" because its not
It should be called "a known issue" if that's what it is
If you look around this has been an issue on Ford trucks as far back as the late 2000's
No amount of bleeding changes it so not an air issue
One theory I found interesting was "rotor run out", a rotor or wheel bearing is not spinning true so pushes pad and caliper piston(s) back in a bit, so first brake pedal press needs more fluid passed to that caliper so low pedal, then pedal is firm after that until brakes are not used for a bit, then you get low pedal again
The physics make since, but not sure it is the problem, lol, just thought it was a little out of the box thinking

Seen a guy at the gas station with same truck I asked how he liked the truck and i asked about the brakes
He told me the AC went out twice and his brakes do the same thing as ours when you want to stop hit the brakes twice

Hello
My wife broke her angle so im driving her 21 ranger and it bugs the crap out of me that I have to apply the brakes twice to stop and there mushy
It's been to the dealer 3 times and they cant fix it. The truck has a 8000 miles on it now and from day 1 it's been this way The dealer bleeds the brakes and gives it back.
They tell me that is all they can do because that is what Ford tells the too do Bull crap If i have to stop fast the dash warning beeps and Collision alert .
I really think it needs a ABS module butt they won't replace it .

I'd ad your complaint to the others at carcomplaints.com looks like there are 2 other complaints already for soft brakes on the 21, 1 complaint for the 20, and 1 complaint for the 19

Ford won't fix it They will just blead the brakes .
This is what I did to make the brakes much better . Get going about 40mph and slam on the brakes as hard as you can Do this about 4 times That will buzz the ABS module

Bleeding the brakes may be all it takes. On the 5G Ranger forum others complained about brake feel and fixed it with a proper
brake bleeding. Just know that these trucks complicated ABS system and can't be bled like we did on old trucks.
