Lately I've been bombarded with recall papers on my "2011 Ranger truck. First when I first got it they came in for the passenger side bag.
After I didn't reply they started up with the drivers side bag being recalled. Sounds like a scam or something as the truck was a Fleet Truck for 80k-
when did the original recalls come out?
I received one notice from Dearborn MI that sounded legit and they said they would write when replacement bags became available, sometime in the 3rd quarter, so it was timely that I just received it. When I asked how much does it cost the gal sounded confused and the line went dead. Is this a rebate thing? Is this even legit?
I should be able to find the maintenance done on it when it was a fleet truck, and probably nothing after that for the 20k it was just used hard and put up wet.
The folks I got it from repaired it well but missed the front ball joint/a-arms assembly so that one was on me... oh well. Thanks a lot for any info in advance.
I appreciated it.

The air bag recalls are legit, Ford will replace them for free.

I had my passenger side replaced a while ago, just waiting for the notice that my dealer has them in stock to replace the drivers side, then I'll have them do it.

The 2005+ trucks have been on recall basically since they were new. They replaced a whole bunch of airbags, but the replacements were just as bad. So now they're recalling the repaired air bags from the original recall. So basically, you're gonna get these notices forever because they don't have the replacement parts, and they probably never will. I'm sure they're just waiting for these trucks to rust out so they don't have to do anything.

Thanks Supercab! Say, I erred a bit... the passenger replacement side bags are available and have been for quite some time. Now, the Drive side is available although how plentiful they are I don't know. you may want to call Ford - Dearborn, direct at 1- 866-436-7332 M.to F. 8am to 8pm (Eastern Time) or the net ; owner.ford.com.
Ok, I'll make sure the local dealer isn't going to foist a "contact Ford for a reimbursement" on me then go ahead and get them replaced. Thanks!!
