I know a guy at a ford delearship and he says that the ranger is no longer going to be continued in 2011 has anybody heard this or is he just trying to be funny and its not working

That sucks the ranger is a dying breed

 

they wont change it because it sells good the way it is and there afraid if they give it more options like the chevy smaller trucks it would take away from the f150 sales.

 

we will know the same time the dealerships know. whey don't get the down low. now if you know someone in the Ford's HQ that's a whole nother story.

You know how many times we've heard it's dead in 08 when a new model is introduced. it's dead in 2010. it's dead in 2011. to be replaced with something tacoma sized called the F100. Last I heard(as of last week), ranger is dead after 2012, and F150 will fill the void with the new 3.7L v6 that'll pull BETTER mpg numbers than the 4.0 ranger does and it'll pull the same mpg as the 2.3L ranger....


I'll believe it(whatever it may be) when I see the official announcements.

Would that 3.7L you speak be the same one going into the 2011 Mustang pushing out 305hp and 280tq? Let's hope so. Still like the 3.5 Ecoboost's numbers better, hehe.

 

Weakoboost dosen't really impress me. Rather build a real turbo motor.

 

To each his own. True, it's not really a true turbo motor, but it does put out decent power in the stock form. The 3.7, however, would be great in a future Ranger.

Yes. Now with Ford phasing out the 4.6/5.4 mod motors, F150 is rumored to be powered by the same 3.7L from the mustang(but with truck tuning), the 6cyl Ecoboost, and the 5.0L(again from the mustang with truck tuning). Just rumors as of now, but I think some of the engines have been confirmed for 2011/2012 F150's. Supposedly the 6.2L from the Raptor will reside in Super Dutys and I've heard a rumor of that motor being the next GT500 engine too.

Back to rangers. lol.

LOL. Another one of these "OMG I heard that the Ranger is..... for 2011......" threads. You will know what happens to it when you go onto ford.com and there is a change. There will be no V8, no diesel, no ecoboost and no 4 doors for it. Why? A bunch of reasons that have been discussed over and over again but a good one is price. A lot of you say 30K is too much for a Tacoma. Well if you have a V8 and all the other crap you would be looking at 30K for a Ranger. Just drop these rumors and crap already and wait until Ford makes a move.

I saw my next truck. It was a regular cab F-150 Regular Cab FX4. It looked great and definitely caught my eye. I've looked on the internet and can't find any regular cabs. I wasn't sure if they made an F-150 FX4 in regular cab or if the guy converted it to that trim level. Oh it wont be anytime soon.
