2008 Ranger….anyone have this type center console? Just wondering if it’s something wrong with my console. The console will lift up so you can seat another passenger. My problem is that it wants to flip up if you put any pressure on the arm rest. If anything inside the console is heavy towards the rear it flips up. Is there suppose to be a latch or something to make it harder to flip up?

 

No, there is no lock for that, but I thought there was a cup holder attachment on the front?
That would weigh it down more at the front for better balance
You could velcro a weight at the front, inside compartment, so it doesn't move up as easy

It's called a 60/40 bench seat, just FYI
That or bucket seats were the two seat option in 2008 Rangers

Have a look at how the console is hinged in your model, maybe the bolts are just loose and can be tightened

 

There is a cup holder mounted up on the front of the seat. Just hoping there was a fix. Guess I’ll have to limit what I put in there with it flipping back 😁 Thanks for the reply
