Dash auto indicator cable (2002 auto Ranger)
Hey…. I recently needed to pull my gauge cluster out but wanted to get it completely out, which I wasn’t able to do because of the stupid cable that attaches somewhere inside the cluster, I’m assuming to change the gear indicator. (2002 automatic Ranger btw). This is a very fine reddish type of wire that attaches with a white clip, not sure where it goes once it get inside the cluster. The other end of this is under the dash and there are a ton of threads on how to fix that end of things, but I couldn’t find anything stating how to pull the gauge cluster out with that crazy cable attached. Can it be detached somewhere? Seems pretty archaic, but that’s what we got. Any advice much appreciated!
It's ackward, but you can disconnect all of the cables+wires from the back of the InstrumentCLuster,
then completely remove the CLuster from the dash; takes nibble fingers & a little patience.
Each connection has a snap in clip, that needs to be squeezed to release.
