I am writing this thread asking for some input. I have a 2001 Ford ranger with the 2.3 duratec engine. Recently I replaced the degas bottle because it had a pinhole coolant leak. However I have been having another issue where it will start puking the fluid form the most lowest hose that goes into the rear of the block. I am stumped this hose is only held by a clamp and this makes me think the system is over pressurizing therefore: pushing out the coolant front the clamped lower hose in the degas bottle.....has any had an issue like this? Thanks in advance

 

Did you get a new pressure cap with the degas bottle?

System should only be pressurizing to 16psi, cap rating
If cap is holding in higher pressure then hoses will pop off

You can pull off either heater hose at the firewall and refill the system, this will let the air out that is in the engine as it fills up
When coolant start to come out of the hose and heater core put hose back on


Pressure in a cooling system comes from coolant getting warm and expanding in volume, like all fluids do
Leave cap off and start cold engine
Coolant in bottle should stay at same level for 3 or 4 minutes until engine starts to heat it up
If coolant starts to overflow or you see bubbles in the tank continuously then you have a blown head gasket or cracked head, caused by overheating in the past, this WILL over-pressurize the system
