Sources for fuel lines for 95 Ranger 4.0
My mechanic says my needed fuel lines from tank to motor and then to both sides of the motor are obsolete and no longer available. I am looking for source for these. Suggestions?

You will need to use fuel lines from a 1995/96 4.0l ranger or mazda B4000
Fuel lines don't really wear out, but can break or be broken
Rangers all used 5/16" nylon fuel lines, 1983 thru 2011
Ends can be different by year
Quick connect fittings were 5/16 or 3/8 at the tank and fuel filter, but hoses were all 5/16
Engine bay often had threaded fittings, but can also be quick connect, varied by engine size and year
Dorman sells nylon fuel line and fittings
Not hard to make your own once you get the hang of it
The End of the nylon hose need to be heated up enough to push in the fitting, when it cools no clamp is needed, super tight fit
Engine bay fuel lines often have a metal mesh over them to protect them from heat and during engine work, you can buy 5/16 nylon hose with the mesh on it, or add the mesh over the line before installing the ends on the line

These lines are steel and rubber with braided sleeves. The leak seems to be within the quick connect on the supply line, directly over the steering column. Things are rusty down there. The lines look tender. The vapor line broke last summer when I jolted the truck/ probably torqued the frame when I accidently spun the tires on wet pavement until they hit dry. Can one fabricate the lines from nylon stock and connectors? can it handle the pressure?
All semi-flexible lines were Nylon, for sure, no rubber
Yes, nylon can handle the pressure
Nylon is also non-reactive with ethanol, unlike some rubber hoses were, which is why most car makers switch to nylon back on the 1970/80s
You can buy Bendable metal fuel line to make custom fit
