93 Ranger Auto Door Lock Will not lock with auto and with key.

Hey all, been awhile since I posted. Anyhow, The passenger door won't lock on my 93 Ranger XLT, it has auto door locks, and it won't lock with the key either. The driver's side locks, no issues. Any ideas or pointers for fix. Thanks

Can you manually lock it? If not, than you will need to dig into the door and see what binding up.

You will need to pull the door panel and repair passenger side door lock until it works with key AND electric door lock button

Never read about auto door lock factory option on 1993 Ranger?

You should be glad as it sounds like what RoseBud said.
There are plastic and metal clips which ride on the lock actuation rods and grab hold of others.....nothing complicated.
Actually, the problem is among the last we'll see from grandpa's day.
I just glanced at the LMC truck catalog and they have front door inwards '93 - 2011.

Yes I pulled the panel. But I couldn't unclip the rod from the actuator assembly. I don't care if the automatic locks work. I just want to be able to lock and unlock the door manually.

Yes my 1993 Ranger has power locks. It's an XLT Super Cab.

"Auto lock" is not the same as power locks
Auto lock locks the door automatically when you put the vehicle in gear or start to move forward

You will have to get the rod unclipped

Don't let it get you angry, Possum.
There are white fabric gloves with a blue, plastic dipped palm which provide flexibility and a non-slip grip.
