Icon9 door keypad help

I bought a 2019 ranger that has a door keypad but did not get a card with code when I bought the vehicle. (not push button start) and I scoured the internet on how to get the factory code. I have tried the using both keys in the ignition trick and also the cup holder trick and I cant get the code to pop up on the instrument panel. What am I doing wrong?

You'll have to go to the Ford dealer with proof of ownership and the VIN, they will be able to give you the original code

Hi 2011Supercab - I'm not afraid of asking stupid questions so here goes ... your reply to eze007 might be the same to me. Along with some lighting I had the keypad entry put on my 2021 Ranger. It's a shop I like and trust and they said their best electrical guy would do the work. When i picked it up he stood there as I tried the keypad. It didn't work. He said "you need your proximity fob". I'd deliberately left it on the back bumper. I said "if I had the fob, why would I need the keypad?"

We went around like this for a few minutes. I had to get to work but I just let it go and said "thanks". It's been bothering me ever since. I want it to work. Do I do what you suggested - go to a Ford dealership with registration/ID and they can get it right? It's been maybe 6 months & I'd rather not go back to that shop. Also - I'm assuming that eventually the keypad batteries will die. How are they replaced? If I remove the touch pad I'm also guessing it will mess up the finish underneath. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The shop needs to go into FDRS and into be Body Control Module and add the keypad. There is a card that comes with the keypad with 3 lines of characters. All these need to be entered in a single line/string of characters into the appropriate field in FDRS then write the update to the BCM. Then you're good to go. If you have FDRS and a laptop you can do it yourself as well.
