1. Look at your door code and then find your door code on this sticky:
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=37149

2. jack up the rear and spin the driver side tire foward.....if the passanger side also goes foward, then you have a limited slip...

to check if it is open: you lift the wheels off the ground and spin one by hand... One while turn one way and the other will spin the other way....

If it is L/S they both turn the same direction.

In more search to what rear end i have.. I crawled under the truck and read the tag.. it read.. 3L73 75 and some other number...

So to my knowledge i have 3.73 Limited-slip 7.5 Ring gear?

But there's no way in hell I have limited slip in my truck.. I took her to the track this weekend.. she only spun one wheel with a brake tourqe.. Is this bad? can i get a clutch repair kit? do these things have clutch LS in them? AH!

by what you say the axle ID tag says, you have a 7.5 axle with a 3.73 gear and a limited slip........

yes you do have a limited slip......HOWEVER the clutches could be worn in the limited slip unit and need replaced.....you can get a clutch replacement kit from Ford for roughly around $50.....then soak the clutches in 75w90 Synthetic gear oil over night, then replace.....then fill diff with 75w90 synthetic gear oil.....with synthetic gear oil, there is no need for the friction modifier...

U guys think a 8.8 out of a 4.0L will bolt up to my 3.0L?
I want the 4.10 gears with limited.. and that's the 28 spline..
U guys have any idea what spline is my 7.5?

yes the 8.8 will bolt up

7.5 is also a 28 spline, the only difference with the 8.8 is that the carrier is stronger

if you want stronger axles get an explorer axle (31 spline), but there are more modifications that are required to make it work on a ranger (spring perches, shock mounts)
