2002 Ranger, had the complete front suspension rebuilt, steers like ****

So on this car I got the front upper and lower control arms replaced, new ball joints, new tie rod ends, basically the whole shebang of the front suspension replaced, all re aligned, etc. Cost me a truckload of $$.
ome shop or lift or major tools to do to much
The thing steers like ****. It has insane oversteer, to the point I have been afraid the thing was going to flip over. The steering is to sensitive half the time, but then ha a ton of play in it at other times. Generally it seems oversensitive at speed and has a lots of play in it at low speed.

Should it just always drive this way it's an old truck, or are there any easy, cheap things I can do to improve it? After all the $$ this thing has sucked up 'm not doing any other major repairs. Problem is I don't have a h

Toe settings will cause a twitchy steering.

My mechanic

Toe settings will cause a twitchy steering.
Would another alignment fix that?

So I took it in to get it looked at, and they are telling me I would need the steering rack and pinon replaced, with parts labor and a power steering flush coming in at just under $1000

It's a 2002 3.0 that I am already into for $8000. The mechanic said if it was him he wouldn't bother fixing it, he would just drive it like it is until it falls apart and not put another penny into it. Thought/opinions?

Slugger, do you have the ability to do this work yourself? If you do this would save you a lot of $$ and you get the satisfaction of doing the job yourself, but not everyone has that capability.
