Steering prob - bumps

I have a 1998 Ranger XLT 4x4, stock suspension, stock size tires. Whenever I am turning and hit a bump my steering pulls in either direction... sort of like a bumpsteer, but not so if my wheels are straight going over a bump. The pull can be quite severe, especially when driving at highway speeds. It's been this way for quite some time and possibly even worse over the past 6mo. In the past 6 months I've checked the wheel alignment, checked for loose/worn tire rods, ball joints, etc. No sign of something out of order. No excessive play in steering. My local repair shop couldn't find anything either. Ideas?

I have had that happen in both of the Rangers that I have had, hit a bump on the high way and it pulls to one side or the other, just about sheet my pants, it was quite scary. no suspension problems here either.

have you checked the rubber bushings in your upper and lower control arms

16 years is a lot to ask for regarding rubber bushings

i see people on here just replacing ball joints , when you should really bite the bullet and just replace

the whole control arm assembly with a brand new one

rockauto has very good prices on new control arms
