Help! One wire cut and whole electrical messed up!

Hey everyone!
I have a 2002 Ford ranger 2.3 Duratec. I was putting in a stereo, and I cut the radio cable (giant braid of wires attached to the red tipped plug) to install the new stereo. I should have used an adapter, I was trying to figure it out myself and I cut all the wires. Immediately after, the power windows and the windshield wipers quit working. Everything else I tested works. I reattached the wires to a 2004 ranger radio cable (two wires were different) and plugged it into a 2004 ranger radio. Problem persisted. Returned and found a 2002 Ford ranger cable, got it and reconnected everything using splice connectors, all wires identical. Now it's back to normal and the wipers and windows still don't work! Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has turned into a nightmare!
thanks,
Ken

Did you cut them all at the same time? Maybe you just shorted the circuit to ground and all you need to do is replace a fuse or two.
