Brake light wire routing 98 Ranger XLT
Brake light wire routing 98 Ranger XLT
Can anybody get me some hints on the brake wire routing on a 98 XLT? I have a Bedliner and a Snugtop (98). I am attempting to fish a rear looking camera, mounted below the upper brake light, up to the cab. The Snugtop install in 98, definitely used those left side wires to tap in the interior light and upper brake light. The Snugtop and Bedliner are very definitely in the way, however, I do not really have the space to remove them both entirely, unless absolutely necessary. Are the wires routed at a place accessible from underneath? Yes, apartment living sucks! I can pull it off I think, but need a REALLY good idea in order to make this time efficient, (read: b4 a manager shows up!)
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Pull off the left side tail light, just 4 Phillips screws, 2 in the lens and 2 inside tail gate opening
You will see a large cavity behind there and probably the current wires to canopy so you can see how they are run, if they are not there then figure out a way to get from there down to frame rail, where brake light wires go now
And then out into bed and canopy area
There are many ways people wire up canopies, not one way, all involve drilling a hole or two, there are no pre-drilled holes for this
