Bunch of fluid came out when turned off (pretty sure its transmission fluid).
Hey everyone! Just got myself a 1999 Ranger XLT about a week ago and she was running perfect until today. Got home and when I turned off the truck and got out, there was a huge puddle of fluid coming from underneath. Pretty sure it’s transmission fluid cause dipstick is showing barely any (doesn’t reach cross marks). Looks like a bolt is missing from the engine also. I have a 30 day 50/50 warranty from where I got it and I’m getting it towed to the mechanic tomorrow but I just wanna see what y’all think it is cause I’m learning all this has a I go. Wanna do my own maintenance but need the knowledge. any help is much appreciated!
That looks like someone put one of those "Stop Leak" stuff in it. Pull the oil dipstick. make sure its clean and not milky.
Yes you will need to flush that out and if it caked like that in the rad, what do you think its like in the engine.

gotcha, have never heard of the stop leak stuff before. the oil dipstick looked fine when I checked it. Definitely looked like just oil to me. Could this just be the leak from whatever the stop leak stuff was originally used for is back?
