Hi. I was working on my power steering swap to Saginaw type 2 and the power steering fittings (type 3 swivel o -ring) just seem to be a nuisance. I want to switch to AN fittings but I’m stumped on where to get the size(16mm or 5/8???) I already have a fitting for the pump I just need one for the rack. I have a few fittings but I do t think they’d seat like the swivel o-ring. So my question is: how do you flare these 16mm long swivel o-ring fittings so I can just make a hard line from the swivel to a hardline AN -6 ?
2006 Corvette steering pump on the proquipped adapter kit on my 99 ranger xl 2.5l . Russell inlet for high pressure, borgeson shim kit 2 or 3 shims.then it goes 16x1.5to 6an , then female 6an to male 6an with an 1/8” port for steering assist. I had a 3/8 hydraulic hose made at a local hardware store for 50$ with two 90 degree an6 fittings facing opposite directions. For the rack I used the 16x1.5 and just used the bench grinder to grind that tube end off. Then I put an o-ring from another fitting I had on the base of the 16mm end, then tightened it to smush the o ring a lil.
