94 4.0 ohv engine starts high idle, then dies
So I did some valve body work on the car over the last week and finally got everything back in and secured. Went to fire up to get atf ran through. The engine fired up after a few revolutions then went high idle and then just died.
RIght now the engine will fire up for a few seconds if I key on/off a few times to build pressure but won't stay running. Cranking it for quite a bit it will finally catch and fire up to a high rpm then drop and die
With foot on gas it makes no difference. Still dies.
There are no codes at all.
Truck was running great before trans work, even passed emissions. Only thing I can think of is we had it up on stands for a week so that may have caused an issue.
We confirmed fuel pressure while we had it running prior but not since this issue started. And right now I can still hear the fuel pump run when key on so that system is working correctly.
I've replaced quite a few items on this rig so far so the following are all new
Plugs - motocraft
Plug wires - motocraft
Coil - motocraft
Fuel pump - AutoZone installed by prior owner just before I bought it.
Wix fuel filter - not new but I'm able to blow through it
PCM - reman OEM due to previous dieing
Fuel injectors - reman OEM Bosch set
Pcv vave
Intake gasket
IAC - aftermarket from advanced auto
Right now I'm leaning towards lack of continuous fuel pressure and will be pulling the bed to inspect the pump and it's wiring. I'm just asking if I should look at anything else.
Thanks yall!

When replacing an IAC, Motorcraft or Hitachi only, I've read here. It has to do with motor type and matching control signaling.
I don't know what your 94's PCV plumbs into, but plastic tubing which can crack is part of the SOHC's system.
Any such tubing in your truck is 30 years old.

CV is a rubber hose directly in to the intake, very small 90* guy. No cracking. When its at idle it idles perfectly. Cant even believe this truck is 30 years old, though the body shows it a bit the engine/transmission(auto) are in great shape.
So I picked the truck up from a kid who got it from a farmer up in Washington. It wouldn't start. Determined the PCM was dead I replaced it. Then decided to replace just about everything I could. When I opened the original IAC, with what I believe is 330k miles on it, jt had worn away over half of the shaft. Any idea what Hitachi part number works for the IAC?
Same. I went ahead and scavenged out ones that fit other cars that used the same part number Ford gave for my ranger and snagged one on Amazon. If it works cool if not I'll send it back. Should know Thursday.
The plug is in a different place than stock but it definitely fixed my issue. This worked on a 94 4.0 ohv. For anybody looking.
