Faulty wiring and brake lights causes vehicle to die
I never thought I'd see something. This crazy. My vehicle has been running like crap for over a year. No codes dies when you try to put it in gear Or you apply pressure to the brakes but it would rev in neutral. Water in the headlight was causing a short and there was a loose ground and a loose live wire in the wiring harness going to the trailer lights . My vehicle was basically stuck in the same spot but as soon as I unplugged all my bulbs for the tail lights and redid the wiring for the lights on the trailer The vehicle ran like a top. All the electrical components that were acting weird like my blower motor for the AC. My headlights my radio all worked normally once that small bit of wiring was fixed. Although I've installed parts like fuel pump, fuel, injector head gasket all sorts of stuff. As soon as the bulbs came out, the vehicle ran properly. A small short like this anywhere in the vehicle's electrical system has the potential to do the same thing. Draw too much power on a circuit. It doesn't actually trip the fuse, but the vehicle can sense that it's drawing too much power on a circuit and shuts it down
