I want to put a 5.3L LS engine in my 95 ford ranger xlt. I’m researching on what transmission to put in and was wondering what recommendations you guys have for the transmission. For the folks out there who have done this or something like this, what are some tricks of the trade I should look out for or things to be extra careful about. Also, I kind of want this to pass smog, but CA BAR is kind of a bitch when it comes to smog laws, so how should I go about this?
A lot of people are starting to use the 8hp transmission it needs a Holly fuel injection set up to shift it but those are the newest thing but if you are going carburetors a 4l60 with a reverse manual valve body will be good as well
