Won't rev past 3k rpm

Ok guys, need some help... 2001 Ranger Edge 4.0 Automatic..
won't rev past 3k rpm sitting in the drive. Wont go over 20 mphs driving. No transmission slippage, i dont think its a transmission problem... no check engine light. Heres whats been done :
-TRansmission rebuilt
-Timing chains have been replaced, a few years ago.
- just put new plug wires, had a code for #2 misfire, had a broken plug wire
- replaced fuel filter.
- Ignition switch replaced

Im at my wits end with this. Someone has had to experience this same problem. I dont know what's wrong with it and tired if throwing parts at it.

I've read here that a loose or worn Throttle Position Sensor sends bad data to the Transmission Control Module.
Check your TPS.
