Coolant leak at lower rad hose? 2010 4.0

I noticed a little but of coolant on my driveway the other day. When I took a closer look, I found that there is a small leak coming from the lower rad hose, right where it connects to the radiator. It doesn't even look like there is a hole. It is just leaking out the end of the hose a little. I tried loosening the clamp and pushing the hose to seat it better. That didn’t help much. Should I just try a new hose clamp? Should I replace the whole hose? Or is it possible that the connection point is cracked or something?

I’ve read that the hose can leak when it gets cold. That would make sense, it is cold. But still, I’d rather it didn't leak coolant.

This is what it is looking like.

Use a garden hose to clean that area. this will give you a better chance to see exactly where its leaking from. Could be the hose or could be the rad.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll take a closer look when I can. Hopefully in the next few days. It is not gushing out, so I should have some time. If it is the hose, would a new clamp do it?

I’m thinking I’ll need to pop the hose off and drain it to really do this right. That won’t be fun in the snow :(

If it needs a new rad, ideally I’d wait for warmer weather to do that. That will be at least 4 months though. I’ve got a list of work to-do once it warms up. I could add a rad to the to-do.

Damn, I noticed a little bit of a leak again today. It is even smaller than the previous leak. My money is on it being from the cold weather. It has been right around -40c this week. Fingers crossed it is just that. I’ll keep an eye on it. Hopefully when it gets warmer, things expand and I’ll have no more leaks. I’m trying to avoid working on my truck in the winter. If it is still leaking in the spring, I might just full send and upgrade to an aluminium rad. 😂

In don’t think it is the rad. But, I’m tempted to just upgrade everything and put in new houses hoses 🤔

I highly doubt this will happen. The rad gets hot, expands and then contracts with every drive cycle, a hairline cracks worst enemy. Don't ask me how I know! I hope the rad makes it to warmer weather but I doubt it will, especially if this is a daily driver
