Driverside door power window rapidly becoming unstable.
Hi, my 2011 xlt extended cab 4x4 4.0 has developed a driver's side window issue where it rocks one way, forward or back, about half way up and when I first push open.
It tips perhaps 1/8" on each end.
The problem is getting worse.
Hate having to work on it in the wind and cold we are experiencing, but i don’t want bigger problems....like a broken window out in the middle of nowhere in this cold and wind.
Any ideas as to what might be going on?
All i've done with doors so far is lube the hinges and rubbed spray silicon sprayed on a rag in all the window seals, lube the lock.

I've never had to deal with any glass tracking issues, so excuse my limited help. However, you will need to take the panel off and take a look at what's going on with how the glass sits in it's track. Hopefully nothing is broken that holds/keeps the glass straight within the track. To keep from having to work on it in the cold, and you may be doing this already, if it's up, leave it up and wait until better weather

I agree yet i've faced a similar problem before with what was perhaps the finest used cars i've ever owned...a 1988 Oldsmobile Touring Sedan.
What a deam car this thing was. Basic 98 looking car shipped off to an interior and other custom company who's name escapes me at the moment, where they added about $10,000 worth of incredible plush seating for 4 large adults, 5 comfortably, because the 2 ends were turned into more of a 2 seated luxury environment not all that unlike the fabulous full size buckets up front that i've only seen in person it this car.
AND, a feature that I fell in love with. They used quality thick leather to cover extra wide living room chair carried only in the finest furniture stores around.
and then, in the center console center an array of buttons with one very special button that pumped air into the wingback-like lower sides which would then begin to slowly press you together at the sides with very thickly stuffed shoulders down the side to hold you without you even trying to sit up straight and you knew you were secured and man what a wonderful comfortable position to drive with little fatigue.
the shop also stretched it a few inches because a 6 foot man could stretch his legs all the way out in the back seat. He also would be treated with a better than most front head rest that made anyone fell great.
I've yet to see another one since but mine came with a gorgeous midnight blue paint with metallic sparkles.
another feature I fell emediately in love with was the lack of any chrome other than the metal bumper.
I saw it sitting along a frontage road in town where private sellers could park their car during the day and I pulled over thinking it to be a bland 88 or 98 Olds that seemed less than luxurious from the avenue.
What i discovered was a beautifly and tastefully understated gem that drove as well as it looked.
I later learned that it's pricetag new included the full cost of a fully loaded Olds 98 and ten thousand dollars worth of very plush and expensive comfort inside and out.
Shortly after I bought it the window on the side of the front pasenger seat dropped suddenly at highway speed. The only problem that car ever gave me.
wish I hadn't sold it.
Just felt like shairing that since posting isn't usually heavy here but I like it and i've learned much from posters here and appreciate your commitment to give members a pleasant place to share their love for another great truck Ford builds.
I love both of mine.
I just figure what that car would have sold for in today's dollars.
Just over $100,000.
Why did they have to drop Oldsmobile?
Oh, and antilock brakes. Not real common in 1988.
Now back to dreaming about what I should do to my Rangers next.
